Known by its many names such as chickpea's, Kabuli Channa, Egyptian peas, Bengal gram, and Ceci beans. An essential ingredients in dishes like chole channa, hummus, tahini, and falafals. A Popular dish in India is the chana masala, which consists of chickpeas stewed with onions, tomatoes and spices. Makes for a hearty meal.

How to cook garbanzo beans: Soak the beans overnight. Drain water and replace with fresh, water for cooking. Place on stove and bring to a boil in a pot with a lid. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer, tilting the lid slightly to allow steam to escape, and leave to cook until tender.
